The use of open source software and the emphasis on planning and design ensured that we delivered a much improved service well within budget and far quicker than we had hoped. I would recommend them to anyone.

Other technologies
It's always difficult when listing the technologies you work with on a web site. Part of you wants to say "We do everything", which no-one will believe, or "We specialise in...", risking someone not calling you because they were looking for skills in something you're great at, but hadn't bothered listing.
So, with that in mind, we thought we'd best list some of the other things that we have a lot of skills in that might be of use.
- Subversion and Trac
- We would not be able to operate in the way we do, using Agile techniques, if it were not for the excellent version control provided by Subversion and the extremely powerful ticketing and project management facilities provided by Trac. Each of our customers has full access to the source code repository and ticketing system for their projects. We'd seriously be lost without them.
- Zope 2, Zope 3, and the CMF
-
While we make considerable use of the Plone Content Management System we are no strangers to Zope, the application server upon which Plone is built. In addition we have considerable experience of the CMF (Content Management Framework) both through our work on early versions of Plone and from assisting Great Ormond Street Hospital with their CMF based Content Management System.

- OpenLDAP
-
LDAP is pretty hard to get to grips with. Building your own custom schema, setting the right access controls and integrating it with your application is difficult at best. We can help out - our Business Directory solution (for both Business Link Kent and Business Link Suffolk) makes heavy use of LDAP services. We've like as not met all the problems that you're experiencing.

- PostgreSQL
- It goes without saying that some projects will require an Relational Database Management System (RDBMS). Our choice and expertise lies firmly with PostgreSQL. All of our applications that need the power of a relational database use Postgres.
- Debian
- Everything we do runs on Debian. It's that simple. From our workstations to the servers we run for our customers. We reckon it adds about 2 members of staff to our team compared to the other UNIX and Linux distributions we've used before.
